The ensemble ‘VIVAT’
was founded in 2001 in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia) in order to revive and
popularize old Russian vocal traditions. Young musicians Igor Tchkalov,
Igor Larkin, Evgeny Vorobev and Aleksandr Sukhanov turned to eternal values
of human culture and art embodied in sublime harmony of sounds. The repertoire
of the ensemble is exceptionally wide. Its basis is classical and modern
church compositions by Russian composers and folk songs. A number of items
was specially written or arranged for this group. The ensemble ‘VIVAT’
actively gives conserts. They were in England, Germany, Spain and
the United States. The ensemble is a regulary member of the International
Festival of choral and bell music ‘TRANSFIGURATION’ in Yaroslavl (Russia).
